She flies now

A quickly post about my day's look. I have a day off today and it's been quite rainy day. In the morning I headed to the gym after a week and then I had to take my bike to the workshop because it got broken a few days ago. A saddle exploded while I was biking home from my workplace. And of course this happened during the Midsummer when the buses are not operating normally. Fortunately my other half was so kind that he borrowed the car to me and I was so excited getting behind the wheel after a long time that now I'm dreaming of a red New Beetle.
Midsummer happened at work and I didn't spend it just at all. On Saturday I went to a public Sauna  after work and the place turned out to be swell. Need to visit there again during the summer. I also swam several times although the water was still quite freezing. At least it made the blood runs.

And now to the outfit.  An asymmetrical skirt and ordinary black top and new shoes which I bought from Germany. Somehow I like this look in its simplicity.

Guest post: How to Dress Visual Kei Clothing

Collaboration post
Riley Davis asked me if I was interested in publishing one of her articles here in my blog and why not. A bit different collaboration this time and the subject is interesting. Hope you enjoy the post and get an inspiration about it!

Visual Kei, also known as “visual style” or “visual system” is a fashion movement that became big among Japanese musicians. This stunning and out-there style combines elaborate hair styles, flamboyant outfits, and varying levels of makeup. While many of these musicians boast an androgynous aesthetic, it isn’t completely necessary for you to follow in that one aspect of the fashion trend to dress in Visual Kei clothing.
The easiest way to dress in Visual Keiclothing is to find a retailer that sells Visual Kei specific clothing. You however, will need to be aware of any bad or cheaply made clothing that may be available online at a much cheaper price (and quality). Remember, checking customer reviews can help to relieve any buyer’s remorse later while you’re putting your Visual Kei outfit (or outfits) together.

Dark Clothing Foundation
Darkclothing is a must with Visual Kei. This is a foundation in which you can layer your neon colors and other bright colors on top of.
Don’t Be Afraid Of Color
Visual Kei is known for its retina burning color choices. Don’t be afraid of bright and loud, neons are your friend with Visual Kei!

Pick Your Patterns

Visual Kei leans heavily on different pattern motifs to add visual interest. Some of the patterns and textures you can consider when dressing in Visual Kei clothing are:
1.    Plaid.
2.    Lace.
3.    Webbed patterns.
4.    Stripes. ( Horizontal, vertical, or slanted)
5.    Skull motifs.
Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to just these patterns, Visual Kei is exceptionally “anything goes” and allows you to bring in your own personal flavor with every nuance. You can even add in some OTT (Over the top) accessories to add a little bit of the “Kawaii” (cute) elements to Visual Kei.
Select The Right Fit

Visual Kei clothing should be loose enough for you to move around in. However, you can still wear your skinny jeans in Visual Kei, just make sure that you’re wearing loose enough pants and shirts that you can move freely, dance, or bend as you may need throughout the day. While loose is important, don’t allow your clothing to be so baggy that it’s sagging off of your body. Mix and match the textures and fit to get the right look for you. Visual Kei is all about being confident in how you look.

Try mixing a plaid skirt with a loose-fitting tank top and platform heels. It’s a great mixture of Lolita and Visual Kei.
Accessories

1.    Chains
2.    Studs
3.    Chunky bracelets
4.    Spiked bracelets.
5.    Buckles.
6.    Straps.
7.    Handcuffs.
8.    Goggles.
9.    Rags.
10.  Belts.
11.  Rings.
12.  Cuffs.
Shoes
Think grunge with your shoes. Wear creepers, Doc Martins, Engineer Boots, or Platform Boots. You can even wrap some chains around the boots for a little bit of added flair.
Hair
Just like many of your alternative styles, Visual Kei is well known for their outlandish hair colors. Dying your hair is an easy way to add some color to your outfit. Some colors that are most popular are:

1.    Silver.
2.    Ash.
3.    Bright pink.
4.    Neon Blue.
5.    Bright Purple.

These are of course are a very limited selection, just think bright and bold.
Piercings Are Invited
While some fashion trends aren’t piercing friendly, Visual Kei is definitely a trend that welcomes body modification in all senses. Most Visual Kei musicians boast several piercings, and so can you if you so choose to!
Lastly, the thing to remember about Visual Kei is that despite the distressed look, it is actually quite coordinated and well thought out. Pair your layers thoughtfully to create a polished and well thought out look. If you’re uncomfortable with adding too many layers at first, try something simple to begin and then work your way up from there.

You look like rain

It feels that all people around me are talking about Midsummer which is right behind the corner. I don't celebrate Midsummer this year because I will spend the next five days at work which didn't surprise me at all. A fate of deputies, but it doesn't bother me. Last year I did nothing although I was off and most often I have skipped it.  Usually the weather has also been so wretched that hanging out outdoors has been a torture.  Perhaps I will learn to spend Midsummer when I'm fifty or something. Being at work is a good option, I will earn a double wage and that's needed if I'm going to implement all my travelling plans and some other plans as well. Do you have a strategy for Midsummer?

Yesterday it was a sunny day expect the weather made a u-turn in the evening and turned rainy. I love listen to the rain while going to sleep. It creates a calm feeling and I sleep much better.
A while ago I watched the film: Requiem for a dream which is one of my favorite movie in all its macabre. After watching it I realized that I haven't read the book where the movie is based on. I managed to borrow it and I have gone it through now. Seems to follow the plot quite well so no big surprises are waited.
Yesterdays outfit: A fringed flapper dress is a sweet second hand finding which I made in the winter. I danced it on yesterday while listening to my new music finding: Morphine.

I wish you a happy Midsummer for those who are going to spend it! And good workdays for us who are going to work through those days!

Ps. There is coming a tiny surprise in a blog in coming day. Hope you enjoy it!

If I'm guilty so are you

Having lived  for three years in this town I finally decided to check out Spy museum today. It's a place where you can change your voice, test an invisible ink, listen in,  break different codes and measure radiation from your mobile. There is also a polygraph machine, but trying it requires extra charge. It would be interesting to try it, but I didn't have the heart to pay for it. The place tells the history of  different agents and shows you old spy tools and some modern ones too. The visit made me think again how much information the society can get from a single person if they so wish.   I took a few pictures in there which are here below:

Here is the other's day outfit when we hanged out outdoors without any destination. Sometimes the life is just indefinite knocking about without any direction.
The next I would like to go see Ron Mueck's exhibition which arrived at Tampere a few weeks ago. I don't know how well you know his works, but he has made  huge human sculptures and they look really impressive at least in pictures I have seen.

Adolf was here

We made yesterday a short trip in a province in a honor of my day off. Well we also had  a reason to go to pick up my new amplifier and speakers for a vinyl player which I got as christmas presents from my folks. During the journey we decided to stop by seeing one historic sightseeing which is situated in  a halfway between my current city and my birth place. A railway wagon of Marchal Mannerheim where Hitler visited in a year of 1942. I have passed this place many times during my life, but got to know recently about the history of the wagon. There is a signboard where all this information is told, but obviously I have never paid much attention to it to notice that.
Luckily the wagon's door was open so we got to a chance to visit indoors.
Yesterday's outfit. The skirt is new, I actually picked it up yesterday from a  post office.
Days off disappeared too quickly again and now there is five days to go before the next ones. Hope they go fast.

While the bells are chiming

Such many busy days that have driven me away from the blogosphere though there would be much enthusiasm to write and take the pictures in the nature. There has been much work and duties recently that I've been forced to put the things in the order of importance. Now I'm off for a few days so it's about time to focus on my own personal interests for a while.

A week ago me and the other half visited seeing Lasten Hautausmaa which was awesome once again. I've seen them several times now and the band sounds better after each time. Their sensitive appearance combined with the dark lyrics are potential to create an individual style. I should buy their newest album as vinyl quite soon.
An outfit from the other day. I found a vegan bird skull from Germany and it's most likely my favorite necklace currently. Hand made skull looks such genuine that I first thought it's real. A ripped tunic is also from Germany and so are the shoes below too.
Hope the life has treated you well latterly. I try to write soon again ;) Now I take a sauna and after that I'm probably ready to sink into the dreams. I worked through the last night and slept only a few hours in the morning.

Lost in Stockholm

Hello lovelies! Finally I have time to come and update a blog. A week has been such a crazy and hectic because I have operated with two jobs, but fortunately it starts getting easier now. Today I have a day off and I will go to see Lasten Hautausmaa to Vastavirta with my beloved.

A week ago on Friday I left for Stockholm which is one of my favorite city on this planet. I traveled with Roller Derby team that had  a match against Stockholm. I went there just for fun to hang out. I would like to revisit to Stockholm during the summer and we already planned a small trip with my other half.
I love the street views in Stockholm. There is just so lovely streets and buildings that I would like to wander there with my camera and snap the pictures forever.
We went to eat delicious veggie food to Chutney. The restaurant is situated in Södermalm. I can recommend the place for you if you move in these corners.
Hope to meet Stockholm soon again
